“The Shadows Awakened Vol. I” is part one of a Trilogy. Release will be Oct 1st. It is a contemporary fantasy, from a first person point of view.
I’d been working long an hard on this first novel. It was a story I didn’t know how to create. It was the story that I didn’t know how to properly structure. It was the story that I realized I had a natural gift for. I started this book when I was 19 years of age and completed by 26. What I didn’t know was that typing “The End” was not the end. There was a lot of editing, revising, editing and editing some more. If you’re an author fortunate enough to afford an editor, I’m low-key jealous. If you are lucky enough to have a friend or a family member who will edit for free….I’m high-key jealous! Select family and friends have read the book, however, that didn’t solve the problem of the” first book mistakes” I’ve made. I switched between past and present tense, I had a few (or a lot) of grammatical errors, and long sentences (i.e. the one I just wrote). They were able to look past them, but not everyone would. I’m proud to say I am on my last round of editing (now that I know better).
