Vacancy
This is a love poem
Funny way to start but sometimes we start where we end
Alone
Wondering in the nothing I’ve become
Ready for something new
Thoughts tangled in the chaos of my unkept hair
Folded on itself much like the feeling of peace
Now foreign to my identity
Uncertainty
Of what life wants with a lonely soul like me
Lost
Home is where the heart is
And my heart packed its bags and left its home
Return to sender
Should you find my heart please return it to me.
It may not look like much
Lost its color maybe
A few tears and bruises but it’s mine
Mangled and broken but it should be still beating
I’m sure it’s fine
There was a time that I would cry
My heart’s speak told me it wasn’t my time
However I can’t hear its natural sound
Lost and found
I lost my heart only to find this hole grew and can no longer hold the only thing it knew
Yet what is a heart that no longer has a use
For it has no home with…out…you.
The heart I entrusted you with you kept locked away and speak nothings that aren’t sweet
For you do not speak because your whispers have become weak.
I wait
I wait for you to return to me
In hope to be released from the prison of my mind
I’ll wait
However long it takes to be vindicated of your crime
I cling to the beat of the heart holding mine dear
For it is the future side effects I fear
I said this is a love poem but not all have a happy ending
Vacant is what you’ve left me
With a hole in the space of where my heart used to beat.
Love this. Simple language, but such a powerful, relatable message. Excellent work.
